Expand the horizons of a young person by sharing the adventure of a lifetime. A voyage on the tall ship, Young Endeavour, as a member of a youth crew is a unique challenge. It inspires teamwork, communication, leadership and a sense of community responsibility.
Over 20 11 day voyages are conducted each year exploring the Australian coastline by the Young endeavour Youth Scheme, a not-for-profit organisation, in partnership with the Royal Australian Navy. Onboard, young people participate in a dynamic development program that can be a life-changing experience.
Encourage a young person, aged 16-23, to apply now for a berth. Youth crew are selected through a ballot held twice a year. Applications for the ballot (for voyages in the first half of 2009) can be made by visiting www.youngendeavour.gov.au

Tree Planting Scheme 2008 - 09 Jul 2008
Conargo Shire Council will again be conducting a Tree Planting Scheme in 2008/09, as it has been such a great success in the past years.
Ratepayers and residents of the shire are advised that they can order trees, which must be submitted by Friday 29th August 2008.
The cost to the ratepayer/resident will be 50 cents per tree.
There are many different species you may choose from and they will be ready in March/April 2009.

Photography Competition - Murray CMA - 17 Jun 2008
The Murray CMA have launched a Land, Water and Climate Photography competition. This competition is open to all residents within the Murray Catchment.
The winning pictures will be used in a 2009 calendar.
The competition closes on Friday the 26th of September. 2008.

General Review - 24 Sep 2007
The Department of Local Government undertook a Promoting Better Practice Review of Council in June, 2007. The final Report was considered by Council at the meeting held on 13th March, 2008.
