News from Conargo ShireLatest News and information from Conargo Shire Council Latest NewsA Voyage on the Young Endeavour in 2009 - 05 Aug 2008Expand the horizons of a young person by sharing the adventure of a lifetime. A voyage on the tall ship, Young Endeavour, as a member of a youth crew is a unique challenge. It inspires teamwork, communication, leadership and a sense of community responsibility. Over 20 11 day voyages are conducted each year exploring the Australian coastline by the Young endeavour Youth Scheme, a not-for-profit organisation, in partnership with the Royal Australian Navy. Onboard, young people participate in a dynamic development program that can be a life-changing experience. Encourage a young person, aged 16-23, to apply now for a berth. Youth crew are selected through a ballot held twice a year. Applications for the ballot (for voyages in the first half of 2009) can be made by visiting www.youngendeavour.gov.au

Conargo Shire Council will again be conducting a Tree Planting Scheme in 2008/09, as it has been such a great success in the past years.
Ratepayers and residents of the shire are advised that they can order trees, which must be submitted by Friday 29th August 2008.
The cost to the ratepayer/resident will be 50 cents per tree.
There are many different species you may choose from and they will be ready in March/April 2009.
